Abstract

Background. The relevance of the chosen topic lies in solving the problems of effective investigation of corruption crimes committed by traffic police officers. This is a request of practice that must be satisfied by science. Moreover, a successful investigation is one of the areas of prevention of these crimes, since it inspires certainty in potential criminals that the crime they have committed will be solved, and they will be punished as they deserve. In this regard, it is necessary to create a forensic methodology for investigating crimes, which should take into account the features of committing corruption crimes by traffic police officers. The aim of the study is to formulate the basics of such a methodology. Based on the aim, the objectives are formulated, which consist in determining the features of the investigator activity on solution and investigation of these crimes. Materials and methods. The material for the study is the analysis of existing forensic methods for investigating corruption crimes. The methodological basis of the study is the universal method of dialectical development of society and all its institutions, methods of cognition, formal-logical methods, as well as such special methods of forensic science as method of situational modeling and system activity method. In the course of the conducted study, the legal literature on the problems of countering corruption crimes is analyzed. Results and conclusions. As a result, it is concluded that the forensic methodology for investigating corruption crimes committed by traffic police officers should be highly specialized in order to determine the most effective techniques for conducting investigative and other procedural actions.
